Touching Down in Delhi
Your driver will be waiting right outside the terminal doors at Delhi International Airport with a sign holding your name. From there, you jump straight into a private, air-conditioned car for the ride over to your hotel.
Unpack, recover from jet lag and get something to eat. Take the rest of the day. If you’ve got some energy left in the tank, take a quick walk around the neighborhood.

Old & New Delhi Sights
Eat a solid breakfast at the hotel because today moves fast.
We kick things off down in Old Delhi at Jama Masjid, walk past Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial park at Raj Ghat, and then cruise up the wide government avenues past India Gate and Parliament. Later on, we head down south to check out the massive 12th-century stone tower at Qutub Minar.
Wear slip-on shoes since you'll be taking them off at religious sites, and try to get an early jump on the street traffic.
Heading Down to Agra for the Taj
Check out after breakfast and hit the highway heading southeast toward Agra.
Once you get checked into your hotel and grab lunch, we head straight to the Taj Mahal. You’ll get hours to wander the gardens, look at the marble inlay work, and just take it all in before evening sets in.
Leave big backpacks, extra chargers, and snacks back in the car; security at the gates doesn't allow much inside.
Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri to Jaipur
Start your morning early with breakfast before heading over to Agra Fort to walk through the red sandstone courtyards where the Mughal emperors lived.
Afterward, we jump back on the road toward Jaipur, stopping halfway to stretch our legs at Fatehpur Sikri, an old abandoned ghost city. We roll into Jaipur just in time for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Pack a hat and sunglasses. Fatehpur Sikri is wide open with almost zero shade to protect you from the afternoon sun.
Touring Royal Jaipur
Today is all about Rajasthan’s classic palaces.
We drive up into the hills first thing to tour Amber Fort, pull over for quick photos of Jal Mahal sitting out on the lake, and then head into town to check out City Palace and the giant stone sundials at Jantar Mantar. We wrap up with a quick stop outside the pink honeycomb windows of Hawa Mahal.
Jaipur's bazaars are good for rugs or silver, but you don't have to take the first price offered, so haggle a little.
Jaipur Return to Delhi Departure
Get your bags and have a lazy breakfast by the hotel.
Depending upon your flight schedule, you can enjoy last minute shopping in Jaipur for few hours. Then your driver will take you back up the highway to Delhi for your drop off at the airport or your hotel and the trip is over.
Give yourself extra buffer time for the return drive to Delhi—highway traffic near the capital can back up without warning.
