Touching Down in Delhi
Your driver will meet you right outside the arrivals gate at Delhi International Airport and get you loaded into a private car for the ride to your hotel.
Unpack, shake off the jet lag, and head out for a quiet walk around the neighborhood if you still have daylight left.
Keep things low-key tonight. Grab some Indian rupees for small buys and toss your passport straight into the hotel safe.
Old & New Delhi Highlights
Grab a heavy breakfast at the hotel because today moves fast.
We’ll start down in Old Delhi at Jama Masjid, walk past Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Raj Ghat, and then drive up through the wide government avenues past India Gate and Parliament. Later on, we’ll head south to check out Qutub Minar.
Wear slip-on shoes since you'll be taking them off at religious sites, and try to get an early jump on the day to beat the street traffic.
Heading Down to Agra for the Taj
Check out after breakfast and hit the highway heading southeast toward Agra.
Once you get checked into your hotel and grab some lunch, we’ll head straight to the Taj Mahal. You’ll get plenty of time to wander the gardens and check out the marble work before the evening settles in.
Leave big backpacks, snacks, and extra gear back in the car; security at the gates doesn't allow much inside.
Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri en route to Jaipur
Begin your day with breakfast, then visit Agra Fort and stroll through the vast red sandstone courtyards that once served as the residence of the Mughal emperors.
Afterward, we jump back in the car toward Jaipur, stopping halfway to stretch our legs at Fatehpur Sikri, an old abandoned ghost city. We’ll roll into Jaipur just in time for dinner.
Pack a hat and sunglasses. Fatehpur Sikri is wide open with almost zero shade to protect you from the afternoon sun.
Touring Royal Jaipur
Today is all about Rajasthan’s classic palaces.
We’ll drive up into the hills first thing to tour Amber Fort, pull over for quick photos of Jal Mahal sitting out on the lake, and then head into town to check out City Palace and the giant sundials at Jantar Mantar. We’ll wrap up with a quick stop outside Hawa Mahal.
Jaipur bazaars are great for picking up rugs or silver, but don't take the first quoted price—haggle a little bit.
Jaipur to Pushkar
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and head northwest toward Pushkar.
As soon as you arrive, you’ll notice how much slower and quieter things feel. Spend the afternoon walking the stone steps down to Pushkar Lake, checking out the Brahma Temple, and wandering the narrow blue streets of the town.
Pushkar is a holy pilgrim centre, so wear your shoulder and knees if you want to respect the local traditions.
Pushkar Morning & Return Back To Delhi
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast on the lake, pick up some last minute souvenirs then pack up for the drive back to Delhi.
Your driver will drop you off right at your hotel or the airport terminal so you can catch your flight home.
Give yourself extra buffer time for the return drive to Delhi—highway traffic near the capital can back up without warning.
